Cambridge Film Festival 2013

19 – 29 September Various Venues, Cambridge
Among many other events, Cambridge's 33rd film festival features a one-off screening of new documentary Hawking, a showcase for the best of up-and-coming American filmmakers, a retrospective for German director Roland Glick and a look at Thatcher-era Britain on film. The Festival Team recognises that independent cinema is suffering continual pressure to gain a platform amongst the huge expansion of US led commercial fare. Screen space and media coverage are certainly difficult to achieve these days, but Cambridge’s film culture is thriving – the year-round screenings of independent films and the wide-ranging Festival programme find a home at the Arts Picturehouse.
