San Anto announces gala royals

Antonia Castañeda and David Gonzales will reign as Queen and King Huevo at San Anto Cultural Arts’ 17th annual Huevos Rancheros Gala.
Slated for 9 a.m. Oct. 4 at Plaza Guadalupe, the event  will feature a huevos rancheros breakfast by chef and restaurateur Johnny Hernandez , a silent art auction, a raffle and music by Henry Zimmerle. San Anto will also host a 5k walk-run-ride the morning of the gala. This year’s fundraising goal is $40,000.

Each year, San Anto crowns  two people who have had a positive impact on the city’s cultural life to preside over the event. A historian, Castañeda is a founding member of Mujeres Activas en Letras y Cambio Social and serves on the board of the Guadalupe Cultural Arts Center.  An artist and graphic designer, Gonzales was one of founders of the Guadalupe Cultural Arts Center.
